This blog is about people with disabilities in and around Rourkela,a small town in Western Orissa, India. These children and adults with disABILITIES probably deserve a better deal from everyone of us and the society needs to be sensitive enough to meet their needs and demands as human beings and provide them their basic rights.

Amendments in CSR Policies by Government of India
A letter from Mr. Vijay Kant, Chief Operating Manager, PARIVAAR
Dear All, Greetings from Parivaar!
Recently Cdr. Bijur was in Bangalore and he shared a copy of the newly amended order of the government of India regarding Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).
Please find attached a copy of the same. Disability has been included in the revised order. This opens up an opportunity for us to seek corporate funding for the activities that we caary out on behalf of our children. Please prepare any proposal and approach the Indistries in your area for support.
Point No. II clearly states promoting education including special education and employment enhancing vocational skill training, ... among diffrently abled & livelihood enhancement projects.
Parivaar will be happy to get a feedback on your initiative to access the CSR funding in your state/Area.
With kind regards,
Vijay kant
PS: Please forward or share this information with all our members and help them with preparing projects for funding.

CONGRATULATIONS
"Arvind N", son of Amrutha (mom) and Naveen (dad) & Soumya (little sister)
completed his grade X with CBSE board (from a Regular Ed Meridian School, Hyderabad) & has successfully scored a CGPA of 8 / 10, though he was given the REGULAR, DESCRIPTIVE type of question paper by the CBSE board & with NO adult prompter.
Arvind was diagnosed with High Functioning Autism when he was 3 years old. He has come a wonderfully long way in all areas & this was his 8th year of successful mainstreaming.
Though children in Autism spectrum (due to their speech delay) should be given NON descriptive type of question paper & adult prompter (instead of a junior scribe) for motivation and redirection, educational boards in India still have not been providing them the right support system. He has an in-depth academic knowledge & intelligence, that IF he had been given modified question paper with an adult prompter, his CGPA would have surely been much higher.
