Rasmirekha Sahu, A Down's girl from Home and Hope won this year's National Award in Individual capacity in the category of Mental Retardation provided by the National Trust. She received the award on 26th September from the Union Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment, Ms. Meira Kumar. Rashmirekha is an accomplished Odishi dancer apart from being very good singer and sports person. With good socialisation skills, Rashmi has participated and represented Home and Hope, Rourkela in various National level competitions and has won laurels for herself and Home and Hope, the later being her Institute for the last 20 years.She was well taken care by her special educators during her formative days and her parents have been extremely supportive in taking care of her creative needs and supportive in taking her to various places in exposing her talents.
