This child who is 7 months old has never vocalised since birth, no cry, no babbling, and no phonation at all. Suspected to have vocal web, the parents were askd to attend ENT OPD in Ispat Genral Hospital through our speech therapist Mr. B V Prabhakar.

One more visitor to the camp was Sri H Mundari, Member, Orissa Legislative Assembly. The parents of disabled children and CBR workers were surprised by his visit and he took time off from his busy schedule to interact with parents and care-givers.

A child with Hyperactive Attention Defecit Disorder. Mother holds her hand to keep him in the camp. Standing right to her is the Community Worker. The child has a history of developmental delay- stood at 3 years, first 2 letter word came from him also at 3 years and now doesn't stay in the class and therefore parents no more send him to school. In the domestic set up after taking his breakfast he goes out and comes back only when hungry. Mother also complains that urine dribbles during day time but when he sleeps at night there is no bed-wetting.

Kadambini the small girl sitting between her parents. She has definite history of delayed development. She sat at 1 year, stood and walked at 2 years and despite being three and half years old now, she walks with a typical gait. Has very low attention span and is not able to adhere to routines. Speech seems ok but poor communication and cognitive skills. She has seizure disorder for which her pediatrician has put her on sodium valproate.Likely to have Hyperactive Attention Defecit Disorder. The child was born a hish risk baby and the parents came for early sensory stimulation to this clinic more than 3 years back only once. A home-based protocol for improving motor, cognitive and attention was discussed with parents.
