Happy Birth-day Rashmi


Rasmi with her best friend Shibani/Mama another Down's girl of her age who also works with the former in Home and Hope Production Centre and Chhotu, Rasmi's younger brother on the former's birth-day.


Rashmirekha Sahoo- A Down's girl is an accomplished Odishi Dancer celebrated her birthday on 30th April. Rasmi is seen here on her b'day in company with her proud parents Smt. Subhagini and Sri Gaurahari Sahoo. Both parents have taken keen interest in Rashmi right from early childhood days and fought valiantly with the intellectual disability of their daughter. Apart from being a an accomplished dancer Rashmi now does many a house-hold chore like washing clothes, dish-washing, preparing tea and chappaties and many more social chores. She was trained by the special educators at Home and Hope, Sector-17, Rourkela and the parents took keen interest and the results are seen to be believed.

The mother behind is woried as she wants marry off her daughter with seizure disoder and some intellectual disability. With treatment her seizures are controlled but the mother is worried as the later still remains dull- some degree of intellectual disability with persistent seizure for years probably need time and more training for the right rehabilitation.
