Single Window Platform in December 2004 was a landmark event for disability in Rourkela. With pro-active Government officials and the local MLA taking the lead, people with disabilities were asked to a camp at Muncipal Library and the adjoining field to assemble and get their cerificates from concerned Health Authoroties. "SHRADHA" a local NGO took lead in making arrangements and the occasion was graced by Dr.Sruti Mohapatra, Chair-person of Orissa State Disability Network.She took the pains of travelling to Rourkela and stayed with us for 3 days to be sick at Bhubaneswar on return. The disabled sector in Rourkela will always remember Mr. V Karthikeyan Pandiayan, the ADM of Rourkela and his wife Sujata Rout, PA, ITDA for really conducting such a programme and getting so many people certificates they really deserve but was eluding them so long.
