The rally was flagged off by Mr. Mohammed Aslam, Additional District Judge, Rourkela at Bhanja Bhavan Ground and it marched through the Ring Road to Home and Hope. The Taluk Legal Aid Centre sponsored the programme and all judges of Rourkela marched through the rally along with persons with disablities. The CEO of Rourkela Steel Plant Sri GS Prasad along with his wife Mrs. Manjari Prasad, President of Deepika Mahila Sanghati and many other dignitaries reached Home and Hope to be a part of the celebrations of International Day

Priyanka Mishra is the winner of next year's Umesh Prasad Padhi memorial award, a photo by sswain_1999 on Flickr.

The award is donated by Sri Sudhakar Padhi, ex-ED in loving memory of his younger brother Umesh Prasad Padhi. A sum of Rs.200/- is paid to the reciepient every month as transport subsidy from the interest of the original amount contributed by Sri Padhi. Priyanka was choosen by a group consisting of parents and teachers of Home & Hope. She gets it every month from January 2013 for one year.
