Home & Hope Production Centre takes part in Deepika Fete

A fete is conducted by members of Deepika Mahila Sanghati of Rourkela every year. Members of this club always feel that Home & Hope, the special school in Sector-17 is their own school and treat the children with disabilities as their own. Its a very strong sign of social participation in disabilities and there are many other organisations like the Rotary and Lions Clubs of Rourkela, the Marwari Mahila Manch and many other socio-cultural organisations who treat Home & Hope and its inmates as their own. Every year a free place is offered to Home & Hope during their annual fete and this year too our Production Centre disaplayed materials produced in Home & Hope and sold some during the fete.

Presentation from YAI, New York

Mrs. & Mr. Rajmohan Mohunta of Rourkela are long time patrons of Home & Hope and have become special friends after their daughter Ms. Seema Moondra got involved in Young Adult Institute, New York. YAI previously helped us with video cassettes and their research publications in improving our own management strategies in training the intellectually disabled people in Home and Hope and the Production Centre. During the last visit of Ms. Moondra, she along with her son and daughter presented nearly 60 toys to the inmates of Home & Hope. YAI has gifted 144 base ball hats to the students of Home & Hope and the Mohuntas(Seema's parents) presented it after receiving the cart from YAI. We thank YAI & its Director Dr. Thomas Dern for their loving gesture.
