High Risk Baby Clinic, IGH

A small baby with cerebral palsy in mother's lap and supporting them is the maternal grand mother a typical scene in Indian context. We have not come across many paternal side of relations being overtly supportive of a child with disability. Posted by Picasa

High Risk Baby Clinic, IGH

This elderly couple contacted HRB Clinic in IGH for their 15 years old son's intellectual disability. They stay in Rourkela town but now that the boy in teens is unmanageable they felt like seeking some professional help. Almost all schools in their locality closed doors to the boy despite the fact that the Union and State Governments have made a ploicy and implemented Sarva Siskshya Abhiyan in which the children with disabilities are integrated in normal schools. We advised the couple to bring their son to Home and Hope, the local special school for the MR and trained both parents in behaviour modification techniques. Posted by Picasa
