This blog is about people with disabilities in and around Rourkela,a small town in Western Orissa, India. These children and adults with disABILITIES probably deserve a better deal from everyone of us and the society needs to be sensitive enough to meet their needs and demands as human beings and provide them their basic rights.

Some tranees of Home & Hope Production Centre with Smt. Manjari Prasad & Smt. Sujata Mishra of Deepika Mahila Sanghati
It was magnanimous on the part of Deepika Mahila Sanghati and its President Mrs. Manjari Prasad to offer training and later employment(if they do well in training) to 3 female
& 5 male trainees with intellectual disability in Deepika Mahila Sanghati's centre in Sctor-2. Mrs. Sujata Mishra, the secretary of the Sanghati invited some adults wirh intellectual disabilities to meet their President and other members. Such adults from Home & Hope were picked up by Mrs. Bandana Patnaik, a member of Sanghati and a professional in Home & Hope. The meeting and interaction took place in the board room of the Sanghati. The President, Secretary and other executive members of the Sanghati decided to train 5 male & 3 female adults with intellectual disability from 1st November 2014 in different trades.
The effort by members of Deepika Mahila Sanghati has come suo moto and probably one of the most laudable one in this part of the country for people who are the most marginslised in the society. As parents we wish all success to our wards and the organisers.
