SONIA GANDHI speaks on Autism
Sonia Gandhi is the Chairperson of the Indianchapter of AUTISM SPEAKS .
At an internationalconference on Autism in Dhaka, Bangla Desh recently,
Mrs. Gandhi proposeda three-pronged approach to address the autism issue:
1) through empowering parents,
2) bringing autism victims to centre of attentionand
3) creating institutions to undertake research intoits various facets.
She said each family with an autistic child hasto become a resource for others, “creating a ripple effect“. “The strongerthis movement grows, the greater will be the pressure on governments to providemore services"
