All registered members of PARIVAAR- the National Federation of Parents Associations, India belonging to Orissa met on 30th August at Rourkela to discuss the utilisation of grants from CBM, North in Awareness Campaigns and forming sustainable Self-help groups among parents in the rural areas. Hosted by Rourkela Association, the meeting was presided over by Sri Ajay K Jena, Vice-President(East), PARIVAAR, the discussions stressed the formation of such self-help groups. The members also visited Jalda about 20 KMs away from Rourkela and discussed formation of such a group among parents who came with their children with disabilities to attend a CBR Camp. After noticing the enthusiasm in this group all individual Associations resolved to form at least one SHG in their respective areas.
