Independence Day celebrated at Home and Hope
The Chief Guest Sri Subhash Ch. Kar, General Manager, Town Services, SAIL, Rourkela Steel Plant is very much associated with Home and Hope for more than a decade. A lover of poetry Sri Kar has written poems on intellectual disability. A well-loved personality in Home and Hope, Mr. Kar is seen hoisting the flag and dstributing sweet packets to children.
Rakees produced by trainees of Home and Hope Production Centre
Home and Hope Production Centre is a Vocational Unit for adults with intellectual disability, cerebral palsy and autism. Started with an initial grant of 1 lakh rupees from NIMH, Secunderabad, this unit now has about 38 adults working in it. They produce envelopes, wax diyas, candles and do screen and batique painting etc. On the occasion of ensuing Rakhi Purnima, they have produced the above variety of rakhis.
Selected for International Special Olympics at Sanghai
Feroz Alam(Left)and M V Viswanath(Right) along with coach Saroj K Mohanty. Feroze will represent India in hand ball while Viswanath will be a part of bi-cycle team at Sanghai Special Olympics. Home and Hope has always produced international calibre athelets who have made the country proud and behind it is our coach Sri Saroj Mohanty who is involved in Special Olympics for the last 25years both at the National and International level and has been a source of encouragement to all athelets from Home and Hope.
