This blog is about people with disabilities in and around Rourkela,a small town in Western Orissa, India. These children and adults with disABILITIES probably deserve a better deal from everyone of us and the society needs to be sensitive enough to meet their needs and demands as human beings and provide them their basic rights.

A good number of officials and workers of the bank remained present in Home and Hope on 15th August 2005 despite inclement weather during the function where their Chief Manager hoisted the national flag in Home and Hope and dedicated the computer to the wards of Home and Hope.

HRB Clinic, Ispat General Hospital
This 19 days old child with suspicion of Down's Syndrome was brought to the HRB Clinic in IGH on 13th August 2005 for early intervention. The parents had a natural reaction when we discussed with them the future of the child. But the parents of such small children bringing them to the clinic highlights the high level of conciousness among clinicians. This neonate was refferred by a practising pediatrician in the town.
